Our lovely friends over at edit+vivo, who were our very first brand reps, are my inspiration to both the above prints, the DREAMS and the HEART EYES. Elise, thanks so much for let me use your original photograph of your gorgeous Em for my very first photo art print! I love Em and her precious face and especially eyes so much, and your photos on your insta and blog are always so much feel-good and love and inspiration! If you haven't already given her a follow on insta, then go go GO! The quote on the landscape format poster says "Dreams can come true, I know this when I look at you" and when I saw these words on your insta Elise, I immediately knew I had to design a print out of them! If you ever have been to Scandinavia, you know we have woods, woods and again woods up here hey? ;) Well, it's kind of magical and whimsical and lots of fairytales have been brought to you because of the magic of these deep dark forests of ours. I love taking photos of our sky and of our trees, when I go out for my morning walks (as you might recognize from my insta feed if you follow me there) and I have always had nature and it's beauty as a huge inspiration. I decided to make a prints collection of three from Scandinavia's finest trees: The fir (fir in Norwegian) is the most common tree in Scandinavian woods, the birch (bjørk in Norwegian) with it's lovely black and white tree trunks is the second most common tree, and then on third place comes the pine (pine in Norwegian) and it's cones feels so damn trendy at the moment, for SS16 I see pine cones like everywhere on interior details, fabrics and other printed decoration. If I had a concrete wall myself, oh how I wish, I would have styled these three prints alongside each other, with nothing else, only themselves in their smile beauty. Shop them all here.

Minimal

My Kubus big bowl from ByLassen is perfect for a simple xmas decoration in Scandinavian style, a mini tree with some newsprint and hazelnuts for decoration.

The round cutting board from Twelve Dots together with a bamboo placemat from Ikea makes me think of geometric shapes and it's beauty. When I designed my HEXAGON MIX print I thought of the irregularity but simplicity in a hexagon and wanted to give the shapes a flowing expression by making them in different sizes.

Let's see how long I can make my hyacint STAY PRETTY.... I actually don't know how to take care of it but I have a vague memory of some random gardener in the telly saying not to water them at all when they are in bloom?

Ginger and gingerbread, the one for making healthy smoothies and the other for not so healthy but yet, yummy, xmas snacks! ;) I love them both but one of them might be better for beach 2016, I admit that ;)

My kid loves playing with the retro cars from Pinch Toys! They even fit perfect at the railway from Brio, how awesome is that?! When it comes to wooden toys I am a sucker, the aforementioned and also the traditional Kapla sticks from back in the days. A few plastic animals were allowed to join the play too, but I would rather see them wooden! ;)

Hey now, you're an All Star, get your game on, go play

Do you recognize the title? Yes that's correct, it's the lyrics to the song All star by Smash Mouth from their 1999 album Astro Lounge ;) I guess that you, if you like me are born in the 80's, have danced the night away to this kinda weird song! :) Fun and I could write  millions of posts dedicated to the music from our youth, but not what this post is about! It's about play! And handmade gorgeous wooden toys!

I cannot describe the softness of these beautiful wooden cars! Maja, YOU are an All Star!! We love them, both my kiddo and me. They are so soft and well made, they are not fragile, not toxic, not plastic, not something you get tired of, not something only trendy that will go out of time within the nest few months. They are classic. Epic. Lovely. Handmade.

Wood love

What can be more beautiful than a raw piece of wood? I love this natural material! Twelve dots does lovely cutting boards and our new kitchen piece is an interior statement piece! Thanks so much Jelena, you are so talented!
